Overview
What is the Feature Content? And how can you use it? Featured Content will help you to select specific posts so that you can highlight them in a special way. With some of the themes, you can make pages or portfolio projects to be included in a Featured Content area, along with other posts. One of the most common displaying content ways in a theme is in a slider. The themes Dyad and Dara are the very specific examples of that common way.
Featured Content can also be displayed in a larger grid area in other themes, such as Canard and Gazette. Or the Featured Content might be displayed larger than the rest of your posts, for example: AltoFocus or Apostrophe 2.
The following video will show you steps to set up a Featured Content area:

Setting a Featured Content Tag
Select My Sites Customize, then open the Featured Content panel in Customizer. Pick a word that you want to utilize as your desired Featured Content tag, and then insert it in the text field.
We recommend you to use an all-lowercase, single word for your content tag. Please remember not to use any punctuation, for example a quote mark.
After setting your featured content tag, select Publish to save your changes.
Adding the Featured Content Tag and Featured Image
In the editor, choose to open the posts — or pages or portfolio projects (if your theme supports them)— with you want them to be included in Featured Content. In each post/page/project, open the Categories and Tags module – just labelled “Tags” for pages and portfolio projects – and also add the same tag which you have created earlier. Then insert a featured image you want to show in the Featured Content area. After you have done all the steps, view your site to ensure that your Featured Content looks like how you want it to be. If needed, adjust it.
