  • Step 3: Copy the Embed code into your site when going to the Integrate Calendar section. The embed code does contain your Google account name, so please make sure that you are okay with making that name public.

In the WordPress.com Block Editor

  • Step 1: Modify the Page or Post you desire to insert the Google Calendar into.

  • Step 2: Insert a new HTML Block.

  • Step 3: Paste the Embed code you copied from your Google Calendar.

  • Step 4: You can choose to Update or Publish your post or page.

  • Step 5: The next time you modify your page or post, you will notice the Embed code has been converted to shortcode.

Please kindly note that you are able to switch to the HTML tab in the editor to paste the Embed code in case you are using the Classic Editor.

Embed a Google Calendar into your Sidebar

  • Step 1: Please follow steps 1-5 listed above and copy the shortcode from step 5.

  • Step 2: Go to Customize → Widgets and choose the widget area that you desire your calendar to be displayed on.

  • Step 3: Insert a Custom HTML widget to your sidebar.

  • Step 4: Insert a title to your widget in case you need one.

  • Step 5: Paste the shortcode into the Custom HTML widget.

  • Step 6: Hit the Publish button and go to your site and admire your brand new calendar.

Sync iCal with Google Calendar

Although we do not currently offer a way to embed iCal, you may sync iCal with your Google Calendar account and have your events show up in the embedded Google Calendar.

Additional Info

  • Please note that do NOT manually open the shortcode as you normally like you do with other services when inserting Google Calendars into your WordPress.com blog (i.e. do not begin typing the shortcode and then paste the calendar code). This will not work.

  • Click the Customize link under Integrate Calendar in your Google Calendar to customize your calendar (during step 3 above).
